Turn a vision into a next step.
At the start of a new year, it is easy to picture a different future: a new opportunity, a healthier routine, a trip, or a goal that has been waiting for your attention. The picture matters. But without a plan, it can remain only a thought.
A vision board gives those thoughts somewhere to live outside your head. I made one using Word, and I have done the exercise with employees who found their own creative ways to build theirs. Photos, magazine clippings, a slide deck, or a page of words can all work. Choose a form you will actually look at.
The board is a reminder, not a substitute for action. Pick one item and ask: What is the first step? Who could help? When will I do it? A big goal becomes less distant when you can name the next thing you are willing to do.
Make room to revisit your vision as life changes. Some goals will evolve, and that is okay. The habit worth keeping is connecting what you hope for with what you do today.
